From Mar. 30 – Apr. 1, Potosi will be participating in Dude Be Nice week. This event is a way to advocate against bullying amongst the student body. Bullying is more than making somebody feel bad; it ruins somebody’s mental health and social life.
This week matters because many people are suffering from bullying or harassment. By bringing awareness to this matter, we can fight against it and lessen its effect on others.
The founders of Dude Be Nice started in 2014 by listening and telling stories, which grew into a community of people looking for good conversations and deeper connections.
Ways you can celebrate and participate this week can be by wearing clothing with designs that advocate against bullying and harassment. You can also write signs and posters to bring awareness and hang them up in a public space. Or you can do random acts of kindness to create a positive space.
On Apr. 1 there will be an assembly then students will be going to the football field. At the football there will be food trucks such as Bell On Wheels, the Sugar Shack, and Shaved Ice. There will also be games to play which are cornhole, gaga ball, and an assortment of sports. This will be the last day of school before Easter break.
