In addition to offering more than 170 degree programs, including 129 undergraduate majors and options, 33 master’s and specialist’s degree programs, and 11 certificate programs, Southeast Missouri State (SEMO) continues to focus on staying ahead of changing market demands.
The application processes for any scholarship can be stressful, well not SEMOs. The application can be done in just 15 minutes by following the directions at this link. There are no surveys or essays required either. Test grades and GPA are optional on fill-out forms but it would be greatly beneficial to add in your GPA if it’s above 2.95. The deadline for the $5,000 scholarship ends December 1st. All scholarship deadlines for the school end on March 1, 2024.
Southeast awards around $20 million in scholarships to promising students based on their academic achievement, select program participation, and more. All students who apply for admission to Southeast are automatically considered for scholarships. There is no separate application, and no extra steps to pay. They’ll notify you through the Southeast portal once scholarships are awarded. And You don’t worry about paying them back. Scholarships are a type of gift aid that does not have to be paid back.
Their tuition rates are lower than the national average, and combined with real-world learning opportunities, Southeast is a smart investment in any student’s future. Because of this the school has a very diverse campus and can open you up to new wonderful experiences. The first 2 years at SEMO have to be spent on campus and the classes usually cap at 35 people. This college is a university however it is common for people to complete their associate’s degree, 2 years elsewhere, and transfer over. When applying for dorms you have many options, single dorms (unshared), Suite style-( personal bathroom w/ 3 ppl), or community style (dorm shared bathroom and shower facilities).
SEMO is recognized for excellence in education, research, engagement, and creativity. The Missouri 2024 teacher of the year and PHS faculty member Mr. Kester graduated from SEMO. Mr. Kester said, “They had an extraordinary group of professors in the education department and history department.
