PHS competes in Troy robotics competition

At 5:45 in the morning on January 27, PHS Robotics headed off to Troy Buchanan High School for their robotics competition. This was PHS Robotics third competition this school year and this was the last chance for one of the teams to get a spot at state.

PHS Robotics has made a huge breakthrough with the state rankings but each time the team had failed to get to finals. The PHS robotics teams have very high hopes to get past the semi-finals and end up in the finals this year.

Oliver Bone said, “I feel that with all of the hard work and dedication that my team has put in this year should show and it should get them in the finals.” Mr. Fulton agreed that the teams have high hopes and believe they will excel in this competition.

With all of the late nights, early mornings and after school hours, the advisor, Mr. Fulton said, “I feel that everyone puts their amount of effort in and that shows in the end, and if people want to come back next year they’ll figure out how to manage time better and make the most of it.”

This season has been amazing with all the team’s stats going up, with most of the teams placing over 30 on the state rankings. Everyone’s robots turned out amazing this year. It’s incredible to see how everyone has evolved and matured with their building since last year.

Although the robotics team is not going to state this year, the time and dedication the students have put into their projects and competitions is impressive. All that these students have done is something they should be proud of.
