Seniors, graduation is approaching quickly and it’s time to be thinking about college. To those who think they may need a little extra money to pay expenses, there are still scholarship opportunities available!

Many websites provide an abundance of different scholarships including myscholarshipcentral.org, scholarship.com, goingmerry.com, scholly.com, and fastweb.com.

If you’re looking for a scholarship that presents a challenge try applying for the rootEd scholarship. The rootEd scholarship is a renewable scholarship awarded to graduates of eligible high schools in Missouri. It is an award of up to $12,000 per academic year and You can access it by looking it up and applying it on the website. One of our very own Zane West won it last year. Zane was very honored to be chosen as a recipient. He was so happy knowing that there are organizations dedicated to helping low-income families that would allow them to graduate from college with no student loan debt.

Don’t be scared of all these sites most of them talk you through it and the steps you need to go through to apply. If these sites aren’t enough the councilors have scholarships available. If you go under the councilors page on the Potosi R-3 website there are tabs to click on and direct you to many scholarships. Many companies offer free money. Dr.Pepper has a 1,000-dollar tuition giveaway available, a Walmart Associate Scholarship, and a Coca-Cola Scholarship.
