Anyone interested in being a football cheerleader for the 2026 season is invited to try out for the squad on Wed., Feb. 18. Tryouts will be held in the choir room at 3:20 pm, preceded by workshops on Feb. 16 and 17.
According to cheer coach Mrs. Maxwell, “[students trying out] will need to do four cheers and one dance, and they will be graded on their stunts and attitude.” She also said that there are twelve available spots on the squad.
The squad will have several practices over the course of the season as well as over the summer.
Basketball cheerleader Abbi Bowen said “[there’s] just one camp [in the summer]. It’s like three days long. They practice once a week.” According to Abbi, it is a pretty hefty time commitment.
Any student who is interested in trying out for the 2026 football cheerleading squad, feel free to get a tryout packet from the office.
