Potosi High School Marching Band has a very strict schedule for the 2023-2024 year. The Marching Band has proved that they are hard-working, determined, and want to win competitions. The Marching Band is performing on September 23, and 29. In October, they perform 7, 13, 14, 21, and 28. Their show this year is titled “Aftermath”. It depicts a catastrophic event and the rebuilding of a society.
They perform at every home football game and every competition they attend.
This school year, the band is traveling near and far for competitions. This includes Belleville and Pinckneyville, Illinois. They also perform, as close as the Potosi High School Track for Bi-State on October 14. Bi-State is a competition run by the Potosi Band. Schools that attend are competing for trophies.
Mr. Jackson, Co-Band Director says, “I am impressed with the kids this year. Their playing, motivation, and excitement for the show make me proud. There is good comradery. They really work as a team and I encourage people to come out and support the band. They put in a lot of hard work and it would pump them up if people came out to support them.”
The band is proud and confident of their show this year. They believe and hope that in any competition they go to this year, they will place top three overall, including first place in Drumline and Color Guard.
