Class of 2003 graduate, Marcus Walton, is one of Potosi’s most decorated cross country and track runners in school history. Marcus is an inductee in the Potosi Trojan Hall of Fame as a Class 3A State Champion in the 400 meter dash and 800 meter runs in the 2003 Track & Field State Championships, posting a time of 48.78 seconds in the 400 meter dash and 1:55.68 seconds in the 800 meter run. These performances helped Potosi to a second place finish in the Class 3A State Championship.
In cross country, Marcus posted a 5,000 meter time of 17:27.94 in the 2002 Cross Country Class 3A State Championships, placing him 14th overall. His efforts helped Potosi to a Class 3A State Championship.
After graduation, Marcus attended Missouri Southern State University in Joplin to run track and to obtain a degree in Graphic Design.
Now, Marcus lives in Chesterfield, Missouri, and currently works as a Graphic Designer and occasionally participates in local 5k’s and marathons in and around St. Louis.
