On December 8th, the Potosi Boys basketball team hosted the first home basketball game of the season and secured a win against Jefferson. The final score of the game was 73-50.
“Going into the game, we knew that Jefferson was big and athletic so we knew that we were going to have to get out there and rebound,” said Coach Conaway. The whole team worked together to secure this win, although there were some standout players.
Rhenn Mapes, a sophomore, was an important contribution to the team’s win. Mapes finished the game with a total of 21 points and 7 assists. Another key player for the Trojans was a senior, Thomas Lambing. Lambing ended the game with a total of 11 rebounds and 13 points.
“Each player on the team had a job to do and I’m grateful that our team just came together and got the win,” said Lambing.
The Trojans next game will be at St. Clair on Friday, December 12th.
