On Friday, February 27, 2026, the Potosi Lady Trojans not only conquered the Ste. Genevieve Dragons; they also defended their co-conference title. This win secured the Trojans the first ever Back-to-back Conference Champions. After heading into the locker room with a commanding 34-20 halftime lead, the Lady Trojans suddenly found themselves in a third-quarter dogfight. The Ste. Genevieve Dragons emerged with renewed intensity, stifling Potosi’s rhythm and outscoring them 15-4. By the time the buzzer sounded for the final frame, the Trojans’ once-comfortable lead had shrunk to a narrow 38-35, leaving their title hopes hanging in the balance. The tension reached a breaking point in the fourth quarter when sophomores Sabyn Brown and Chloe Rowe were sidelined by minor injuries during the very same possession.
But with the conference championship on the line, the sophomore duo refused to give up. After brief moments on the bench to regroup, both Brown and Rowe checked back into the game, returning to spark a defensive lockdown. Fueled by a collective will to win, the Trojans regained their composure and closed the door on the Dragons with a 51-41 victory.
