Senior Basketball players, Thomas Lambing and Peyton Rowe are the Potosi boys basketball captains for the 2025-2026 season. Lambing and Rowe have played together as teammates for 6 years, this year being their last year together.
“This being my first year playing for Potosi, Thomas and Peyton have made me feel welcome and have shown great leadership skills on and off the court,” said Junior basketball player Alex Hogan.
The boys look up to Lambing and Rowe, which allows them to play the sport they all love while having amazing role models to guide them.
“Before every game, Captain Peyton Rowe circles the boys together and prays over us and the game,” said Lambing
Although the boys team looks up to Lambing and Rowe, Lambing appreciates the captain-like qualities that Rowe contributes to the team.
“My goal for the team this season is to go back-to-back and win another district championship,” said Rowe.
The boys basketball team has spent countless hours in the gym working towards this goal together as a team.
“As one of the team captains, I try to go out there and help motivate and lead my team,” said Lambing
Being a leader is not easy, but Lambing goes into every game with a clear mindset of trying to help lead and motivate the team.
“Out of all the boys on our team, Kanaan Wilson is most likely to show up to practice late because his clothes were still in the wash,” said Rowe.
This statement shows the bond between Rowe and his teammates as the team feels comfortable around each other.
Being a leader is not always easy. There is always going to be a tough game, practice, or situation that they will find themselves in. But, Lambing and Rowe stay persistent and maintain being great leaders on the court and off the court.
Good luck to the Potosi Boys Basketball Team on the rest of their season!
