In the District Championship, the Potosi Lady Trojans defeated the St. Pius Lancers in their closest game of the season. The Trojans opened the first quarter with a 9–5 lead, but the Lancers responded with a strong second-quarter performance to take a 32–27 advantage into halftime.
The battle continued through the second half, leading to a 49–49 tie at the end of the fourth quarter. In the high-pressure overtime period, the Trojans secured the district title when Junior Sabra Brown, who finished with a game-high 21 points, made two decisive free throws. Sabyn Brown contributed significantly to the comeback with 11 points, while Chloe Rowe added 8 points to the total. Eden Robart and Brenley Thornton rounded out the scoring with 6 and 5 points, respectively. The game concluded with a final score of 51–49, advancing Potosi to the next round of the state tournament.
Sophomore Guard Presley Smith stated, “The hardest part of winning Districts was just staying in the game physically and mentally.”
